Corina Barraza

My name is Corina Barraza and I am the Director, here at Kids Planet Child Development Center. I was born in California, where the majority of my family still lives. My father served in the US Air Force as an aircraft mechanic for 20 years before retiring. My mother worked for the Children Services Food Program in Victorville, California until she left to become a home child care provider. In 1992 after my father’s retirement, the family moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico. My mother continued home child care where all my family was involved. I attended and graduated from Alamogordo High School in 2000 and continued my academic career at the University of New Mexico in Las Cruces. I graduated early with an Associate in Art and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. I quickly found employment at a counseling center where I worked as a Behavior Modification Specialist for children and adolescences. My parents decided to open up Children’s World CDC after being at capacity for years at our home child care program. The first of three centers we currently own. I began as an Infant Teacher and ended as the Assistant Director. After three years at Children’s World CDC I moved out of state for a few years. When I returned to New Mexico, I decided to put roots down in Albuquerque, and with the help of my parents, open Kids Planet CDC. Since May 2015, we have been providing quality care for the children in Albuquerque.

Felicia Bray

My name is Felicia Bray and I have been with Kids Planet for 4 years now. I am a supervisor for teachers at Kids Planet CDC. My role is to monitor and hold teachers to the highest standard and in compliance with CYFD, to ensure that your children are receiving the highest quality care. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master in Business Administration. I plan to continue and work toward a Doctoral Degree in Education. I am also working on my Spanish! So please feel free to help me out! I have worked in the Public Schools in Ohio for over 10 years working with children of all ages, with the last of my years, teaching kindergarten.  I am here to help ensure you and your children receive a valuable experience. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. If I can't help, I will try to point you in the right direction.

Sayra Chaparro

Hello, my name is Sayra Chaparro, I am 31 years old and I have been working for Kids Planet Child Development for more than 3 years. I have been the teacher in our 2year old classroom and with the Pre-K 4yr old classroom and there I was for a year with them and it was one of the most beautiful experiences because one learns so much from them. At these young age’s children experience every type of emotions and risks and helping them I learned how to work with each temperament of each child as well. I have returned to be a lead teacher in the toddler classroom and it helped me a lot to have been with the older children because with these children I have learned how to relate more with them and how to attend to their needs. I have earned my Child Development Certificate and am continuing my education to get my associate.

Karina Pizarro

Hello! My name is Karina Pizarro, I was born in the State of Durango, Mexico and established here in Albuquerque, New Mexico 6 years ago. My hobbies are watching documentaries about events that changed the course of the world.



I have a degree in Social Work I earned in Mexico and am currently enrolled at CNM to obtain my degree as an Early Childhood Education teacher. I have been working with children for the past for years and am currently now in charge of the pre-k classroom at Kids Planet Child Development Center.

Today I continue to prepare professionally to provide my students with a better education based on tools that strengthen their skills and abilities. For me it has been gratifying to be part of one of the most important stages of a child and to be able to contribute day by day to their development and growth that will help them in the future to form as individuals.

Yolanda Ponce

My name is Yolanda Ponce. I was born on May 30, 1974, in Chicha, Mexico. I was the first of my parents' children. I had a very nice childhood on the ranch of Tena Municipality of Guerrero. I have three children, a son, and two beautiful daughters. In 2015 I was blessed with my first grandchild and since 2019 I was blessed with 2 more. In 2021 I will be blessed with 2 more and I could not be happier. I love to work with children to harvest the beautiful things that make up a wonderful childhood. I have been working at Kids Planet CDC for the past 5 years, and every year I am given the opportunity to grow my knowledge in the Early Childhood Education. I am very happy with my work and I thank God for that.

Marisol Estrada

Hello, My name is Marisol Estrada I am 24 years old and I am a Pre-k teacher at Kids Planet Child Development I am the mother of a 6 year old girl the most beautiful experience of my life. My favorite hobby is watching television as a family, fixing my nails and painting my hair. After seeing my daughter grow and play I got an immense intrigue of working with children as a teacher and learning a lot!!! Currently I have 2 years of experience working in this beautiful career. I am currently studying at CNM to get my Child Development Certificate and plan to continue with my education until I become one of the best teachers.
